Job Summary

Join Introba’s innovative team as an Intermediate Lighting Designer, where you’ll shape inspiring and sustainable spaces. Reporting to the Team Leader or Project Manager, you’ll collaborate with senior staff to deliver exceptional lighting solutions from concept to completion.

Success in this role means blending creativity with technical expertise to enhance project vision while coordinating seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams. Your contributions will help Introba deliver innovative, high-quality designs that make a lasting impact.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance to the Team Leader/Senior Staff as follows:

o Enhancing and fulfilling the vision of projects

o Maintaining a high level of knowledge on current technology, luminaires, controls and manufactures

o Assist in preparing lighting design concepts

o Creating presentations and sketching visualizations to support concepts

o Creating and revising lighting models/layouts in Revit and AutoCAD

o Preparing lighting simulation models and conducting lighting calculations

o Producing visualizations and renderings using ElumTools/AGI/Radiance, etc.

o Selecting light fixtures and writing luminaire schedules

o Coordinating internally with other disciplines and externally with clients and other consultants as needed

o Reviewing and supervising drafting

o Preparing and reviewing markups

o Designing lighting details

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years full experience in complex interior and exterior light planning and design, with successful completed projects across a range of sectors.

· Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Lighting, Interior Design, theatrical lighting or related field

· Fluency in Revit/BIM and AutoCAD

· High level of experience in AGI32, Dialux, Relux or other light planning software

· Experience in 3D modeling programs (3DMax, Rhino, SketchUp or similar software)

· Proficiency in graphic design and image editing software (Adobe Creative Suite)

· Ability to read Architectural, Structural, Electrical drawings with minimal supervision

· Good knowledge of construction

· Ability to “hand sketch” ideas

· Ability to present ideas in visualization tools such as photoshop

· Capability to apply prescriptive code, bylaw, specifications requirements

· Proficiency in lighting control systems is an asset

· LEED Accredited Professional designation is an asset

· Experience giving technical presentations to industry professionals in English

· Fluency in English required (written and verbal), with the ability to present technical information to industry professionals


 

Additional Information

Introba is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $55,000 - $85,000 annually for this position and local market.
