Job Description

We are hiring for an experienced leader to join our clients collaborative team on a full-time, direct basis as our Environmental Division Manager while based in the Southwestern CT area (e.g.: Stamford, Bridgeport, Trumball, etc.).

This person will serve a key function in identifying and managing environmental remediation / due-diligence projects & proposals in the Connecticut region; this involves the opportunity to grow a group of Environmental Scientists, Professional Geologists, and Project Managers while overseeing an existing portfolio of projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participate in the identification / pursuit of new clients as well as developing additional work within an existing network of clients.

Oversee and manage junior staff for specific project assignments; this also involves training and mentoring staff members.

Participate in interviewing and hiring new staff.

Supervise field activities; this includes interpreting field conditions and laboratory analytical results.

Effectively organize / write / edit reports, draft proposals, and other documentation.

Coordinate different work groups within the same (or different) office location(s); this can involve working within the same or different disciplines (on an as-needed basis).

Interact effectively and professionally with clients, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, etc.

Manage project billings and assist in payment collections (as needed).

Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelors degree (preferably in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related scientific field of study).

9 years of professional experience working in Environmental Science / Engineering (preferably with environmental investigations and/or remediation projects).

Professional Geologist [PG], Professional Engineer [PE], and/or Licensed Environmental Professional [LEP] certification is required (more than one is a plus!).

This person will be expected to work in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Management and/or Project Management experience is strongly preferred.

Advanced expertise with environmental remediation / clean-up best practices in CT.

Proven expertise with relevant & applicable regulations (e.g.: ASTM, CERCLA, RCRA, CT DEEP, etc.).

Advanced analytical and technical skills; this person will be expected to perform quantitative / technical analyses (while utilizing relevant software programs).

Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy.

Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.

Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
