Marcus Knightley are searching for a Lighting Designer for our Cambridgeshire based client on projects across the UK and Europe, with a particular focus on clients in London and the South East.
This hybrid role will be based in the office 2 days per week and 3 days per week working remotely.
Design and develop detailed
lighting schemes to support sales and customers’ needs, covering commercial projects.
Support bids for roll-out projects
and clients by developing technical solutions which optimise cost-effectiveness.
Use software systems to produce
lighting designs that meet industry standards and customer expectations.
Be knowledgeable and
able to apply relevant industry and segment guidelines and regulatory
standards and to be able to explain these to the design and sales teams.
Identify new product
development opportunities.
Collaborate on product
and project presentations with the sales team to stakeholders such as designers and
other members of the project team.
Interact with
stakeholders to ensure the finished lighting effect meets the customers
requirements, often by visiting the stores.
Engaging other parts of the
business in order to support customer needs and deadlines.
Support lighting payback
calculations on a project-by-project basis.
Travel to client locations to
educate, direct and coordinate the focusing of lit spaces.
Write and
present CPD seminars and deliver these to project managers and designers.
Requirements
5-years’
experience working as a lighting designer.
Great
communication and personal skills, internally and externally and the ability
to build and nurture colleague and customer relationships.
Working
knowledge and experience of design software including Dialux, Dialux
Evo, AutoCAD and Adobe Design suite.
Knowledge of
UK and EU lighting, photometric standards and lux levels.
Able to
understand and communicate technical and commercial data to sales team and
customers.
The ability
to inspire customers and colleagues through the presentation of proposals is
essential.
Excellent
presentation skills and comfortable presenting to large audiences at internal
and external seminars.
PC literate
across Microsoft Office.
Desire to
improve personal and team knowledge to improve skills.
Great
organisational skills with the ability to be both flexible and have excellent
attention to detail.
