NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG’s own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

The Role

  • Responsible to the Commercial Manager and to provide Quantity Surveying services into the CA02, Amentum and emerging Defence Client bidding and project delivery teams.
  • Interface with the client regarding any commercial discussions
  • Provide commercial advice and contract interpretation to the Project Managers
  • Lead on the preparation of all CEs
  • Preparation and negotiation of all sub-contract contract documentation
  • Assessment of all sub-contract CE’s
  • Compilation of monthly application for payment, presentation and amendment as necessary with the client
  • Preparation of monthly report for review/completion by the Project Managers

Qualifications and Skills

  • Awareness and experience of NEC3/4
  • HND or Degree qualified with 3-5 experience
  • Sub-contract management experience
  • Contractor Quantity Surveyor experience
  • Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information
  • Familiar with QSHEW operating procedures and requirements etc
  • Able to organise and prioritise own work
  • Maintenance of database and physical records and files
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of colleagues at all levels and with the external stakeholders and contractors
  • Ability to keep calm and professional at all times
